Testimonial from Archdiocese of Atlanta regarding the Heirs to the Margaret Mitchell estate.

The Roman Catholic Archdiocese was the recipient of a bequest from Mr. Joseph Mitchell who was Margaret Mitchell's nephew.  The bequest included some of Ms. Mitchell's personal items in addition to furnishings, decorative items, rare books and other items belong to the Mitchell family.  The Archdiocese has retained Ms. Mitchell's items for historical purposes and intends to have them made available in a public display in the future.

Having acquired the balance of Mr. Mitchell's estate, the Archdiocese was in need of a partner who could assist in the sale of those items in a manner which would ensure the complete liquidation of those assets and produce income from the estate.  The Archdiocese selected Atlanta Auction Company to manage the sale of Mr. Mitchell's estate.  The assistance Atlanta Auction Company provided was invaluable to the Archdiocese.  The service they performed included picking up, cataloging each item, promoting, staging the auction and conducting the sale over several dates.

From the perspective of the Archdiocese of Atlanta, the auction was a terrific success.  Through their work, Atlanta Auction Company converted Mr. Mitchell's estate to cash that the Archdiocese is now using for its religious and charitable purposes.  "We are exceptionally pleased with the professionalism, thoroughness and results of our work with Atlanta Auction Company" said Deacon Steve Swope who managed the process for the Archdiocese of Atlanta, "We would be happy to serve as a reference for any person or ogranization considering contracting for Atlanta Auction's services."

I am writing to express my appreciation for how the Troutman's have handled the auction of items from my mother's estate.  From the beginning, Lucy impressed me with her knowledge of china and other works of craftsmanship and decoration.  I really leanred something listening to her talk about the designs, manufacturers, history and quality of the varioius items in my mom's china cabinet.  Larry also taught me something as he selected items to be included in the auction that I had not even thought to bring to his attention.  He also surprised me by taking items that I had not been able to clean up very well, assuring me that they would take care of getting them cleaned up prior to the auction.

On the day that all of the designated items were physically transported to the Atlanta Auction Co. warehouse, everthing was handled with care - I'll never forget how my mom's favorite Italian chandelier was taken down and packed up in a specially designed crate.

I am also impressed by the way that all of my mom's items were scupulously accounted for, both in terms of physical inventory and the results of the auction.  Not being in the business, I really had no way of knowing what the financial results would be and have been very pleased with Larry's success as an auctioneer.  Michael K.

I enjoyed Larry's auctioning just because he is so clear. You can understand what is going on. He is so easy to work with.

Larry Troutman's auction was the first auction that we attended in metro Atlanta after relocating from the Washington D.C. area. Having attended many auctions over the years, we were delighted to find such a terrific auction venue so soon after our move. We have been to many of Larry's auctions since that time, and have always been impressed with his professional integrity, sense of humor and knowledge of items for sale on the auction block. If you are looking for a quality auction experience, you can't miss Atlanta Auctions!
